Usually when I write songs, I come up with some kind of hook, roll with that to write a chorus and a verse, and finally finish off the second verse and bridge later. Once it's done, I title it with what seems most natural and I'm on to the next song. Very structured. Not so with this one. The first thing that came to me was the title. It was a specific topic that God was teaching me about and I realized that, in order to write this song, I had to learn that lesson. In August

God’s been speaking to me a lot lately about “new territory” and what that phrase looks like in almost every aspect of my life. I’m a very visual person, so when I hear the phrase “new territory,” I immediately imagine Lewis and Clark making their westward journey across the country; crossing rivers, climbing mountains, and pioneering a new frontier for those early settlers of America. I can almost feel the wind as I imagine myself there with them, looking out over the hills
